Councilmember Wu reported out from the League of California Cities Executive <br /> Forum she attended in June. <br /> Josh Salcman, Los Altos Hills, discussed aspects of the presentation that could be <br /> applicable to the Town and suggested recommendations moving forward. The <br /> recommendations were 1) we should consider the outcome we want to achieve; 2) <br /> we should look for ways to partner with universities, non-profits, and the private <br /> sector; and 3) we should continue to look for best practices and frameworks for <br /> 'smart city' development. He further said the Emerging Technology Committee will <br /> be meeting on an ad hoc basis once a month and work with members of the <br /> community to dig deeper into opportunities already thought to exist, explore no-cost <br /> ways to pilot promising technologies and get to know the strengths in our <br /> community. <br /> Council discussion ensued. No action was taken. <br /> 7. STAFF REPORTS <br /> A. City Manager <br /> City Manager Cahill informed the Council that the fire that occurred earlier in the <br /> day in Byrne Preserve was due to a tractor service who was mowing to minimize <br /> fire risk. <br /> B. City Clerk <br /> City Clerk Padovan reminded the Council that the volunteer dinner was taking <br /> place on Friday, August 25, 2017 and the invitations were sent earlier in the day. <br /> D. Planning Director <br /> L Report on AT&T/Crown Castle Cell Phone Project at Town Hall <br /> 2. Report on Short Term Rentals Status <br /> Director Avila provided an update on the on the AT&T site at Town Hall and <br /> staff s efforts to complete the meter installation.
