Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> Senior Accountant/Finance Manager Job Class Specifications <br /> Amended March 22,2018 <br /> Physical demands <br /> Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including <br /> a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to <br /> communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office <br /> classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger <br /> dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or <br /> calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, <br /> stoop, kneel,reach,push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Positions in <br /> this classification occasionally lift and carry reports and records that typically weigh less than 20 <br /> pounds. <br /> IV. QUALIFICATIONS—FINANCE MANAGER <br /> Ability to: In addition to those identified in Section III <br /> • Prepare staff reports and presentation to the Finance&Investment Committee and the <br /> City Council. <br /> • Create finance models for forecasting and data analysis. <br /> • Present complex accounting and finance ideas to the Finance & Investment Committee <br /> and the City Council. <br /> • Implement industry best practices in accounting, finance, budget, purchasing, and other <br /> functions. <br /> Knowledge of: In addition to those identified in Section III <br /> • Principles of financial administration, including budgeting and reporting. <br /> • Applicable laws, regulations, public finance and fiscal operations. <br /> • Labor relations and basic employment functions. <br /> Education <br /> Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; major coursework in accounting or <br /> related field preferred. <br /> Experience <br /> Five(5) years of increasingly responsible government accounting or auditing experience with <br /> at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. <br /> Licenses and certifications <br /> Must possess and maintain a valid California class C driver's license and have a satisfactory <br /> driving record. <br /> Physical demands <br /> Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, <br /> including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and <br /> speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone.
