Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> Senior Accountant/Finance Manager Job Class Specifications <br /> Amended March 22,2018 <br /> • Assist in labor relation, employment benefit management, and risk management, as <br /> assigned. <br /> • Serve as the Acting Administrative Services Director in the director's absence. <br /> III. QUALIFICATIONS—SENIIOR ACCOUNTANT <br /> Ability to: <br /> • Analyze and interpret financial and accounting records; examine, prepare and verify <br /> financial statements, reports and documents. <br /> • Prepare complex financial statements, reports and analyses. <br /> • Develop and implement modified and new accounting procedures and systems. <br /> • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the <br /> course performing assigned duties. <br /> • Interpret and apply rules and regulations regarding accounting and auditing practices. <br /> • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully,both verbally and in writing. <br /> • Ability to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with essential <br /> job functions. <br /> • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the Town's past practice <br /> and essential job functions. <br /> Knowledge of: <br /> • Principles, methods and practices of municipal finance, budgeting, accounting and <br /> fiscal operations and record keeping. <br /> • General and municipal accounting and auditing principles and practices; Government <br /> Accounting Standards Board(GASB) technical guidelines. <br /> • Organization, procedures, and operating details of the Town. <br /> • Financial management systems and office production software and equipment. <br /> • Familiarity with basic filing systems; ability to arrange/compile source documents <br /> alphabetically, numerically, chronologically. <br /> Education <br /> Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; major coursework in accounting or <br /> related field preferred. <br /> Experience <br /> Three (3) years of increasingly responsible government accounting or auditing. <br /> Licenses and certifications <br /> Must possess and maintain a valid California class C driver's license and have a satisfactory <br /> driving record. <br /> Resolution 18-18 Page 4 <br />
