Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> Senior Accountant/Finance Manager Job Class Specifications <br /> Amended March 22,2018 <br /> controls to improve effectiveness of existing procedures, and to ensure conformance <br /> with existing policies. <br /> • Act as primary liaison for audits; prepare and provide supporting documentation; <br /> ensure that audit is scheduled and completed in a timely manner. <br /> • Assist in coordinating and monitoring the Town budget including controlling revenues <br /> and expenditures, monitoring capital project compliance with budget and contracts; <br /> prepare reports and analysis as needed. <br /> • Provide historical and current analytical and statistical data necessary in the preparation <br /> of the Town's annual budget. <br /> • Prepare employee payroll using automated data processing; perform entry and <br /> bookkeeping activities associated with payroll; file benefits reports and remit benefits <br /> payments. <br /> • Conduct research in files and records to trace sources and resolve discrepancies using <br /> independent judgment, communicate findings to public, employees, and vendors as <br /> needed. Develops,maintains and improves filing and record systems. <br /> • Other special projects and administrative, technical, and clerical duties as assigned. <br /> Finance Manner <br /> In addition to duties listed above for Senior Accountant: <br /> • Recommend goals and objectives relating to accounting, auditing, budgeting and <br /> payroll activities. <br /> • Review, develop and modify accounting methods and internal auditing controls to <br /> improve effectiveness of existing procedures, and to ensure conformance with existing <br /> policies. <br /> • Provide professional, technical accounting and budget advice to senior management; <br /> coordinate activities with other departments; assist in special projects as assigned. <br /> • Manage Town contracts including land leases, franchise agreements, and various Town <br /> Hall service contracts. <br /> • Serves as assistant to the department head concerning personnel-related issues and <br /> responsibilities; coordinates recruitment efforts; processes personnel transactions; <br /> assists with workers' compensation cases. <br /> • Other special projects and administrative, technical, and clerical duties as assigned. <br /> Resolution 18-I8 Page3 <br />
