Town of Los Altos Hills, CA <br />Class Specifications <br />Title: Accountant I / 11 <br />Salary Range <br />$64,784-$96,959 <br />Reports To: Finance Manager / Director FLAS: Non-exempt <br />CLASS SUMMARY <br />Under general supervision, performs general and technical accounting work and assists with the <br />financial statement and budget preparation; and to do other work as assigned. <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br />Positions in the Accountant I / II class series are flexibly staffed, described as follows: <br />Accountant I -This is the entry-level class in the professional Accountant series. Employee work <br />under the immediate supervision of the Final -ice Manager while learning job tasks. Incumbents <br />may perform accounting work in support of senior staff on large and complex projects. As <br />experience is gained, assignments become more varied and expected to be performed with <br />greater independence. <br />Supervision: No supervision <br />Accountant 11- This is the full journey- level class within the professional Accountant series. <br />This employee is responsible for performing a full range of professional accounting and budget <br />duties. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or <br />unusual situations arise and they are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within <br />the department. <br />Supervision: As assigned by Finance Manager / Director. <br />EXAMPLE OF DUTIES <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: <br />➢ Coordinate and prepare postings, balancing of the General Ledger and subsidiary <br />accounts. <br />➢ Review and analyze financial records for accuracy and completeness; prepare <br />corrections as necessary. <br />➢ Assist in the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) <br />and prepare audit schedules. <br />Resolution 07-19 Page 2 <br />
