➢ Assist in maintaining accounting systems (e.g., payroll, accounts receivable, cash <br />receipts, accounts payable, etc.) and procedures; make adjustments when <br />required. <br />➢ Prepare and enter correcting and adjustingjournal entries to update the general <br />ledger and other financial reports. <br />➢ Analyze, reconcile and maintain accurate records for cash accounts, bank <br />accounts and payroll accounts. <br />➢ May provide technical guidance to lower -level accounting personnel in cash <br />receipts, accounts payable, payroll, etc. <br />➢ Provides banking services to ensure segregation of duties. <br />➢ Assist in updating policies and procedures <br />➢ Performs other related duties as required. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />(These qualifications are typically required. An equivalent combination of education and <br />experience enough to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be substituted.) <br />Minimum Qualifications <br />Accn»ntnnt T <br />Knowledge of: Basic accounting techniques and principles; modern office procedures, method, <br />and computer equipment and software, including Micro Office, accounting software, and <br />database applications. <br />Ability to: Learn to apply accounting principles to the maintenance of financial and accounting <br />records; learn to apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, PERS rules and regulations <br />and Employee Handbook to accounting and auditing work; examine, verify, and prepare <br />financial documents and reports; prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses; <br />communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain <br />cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work. <br />Accn»ntnnt TT <br />Knowledge of: Generally accepted accounting principles and applicability to a variety of <br />accounting audits, transactions, and problems; principles of financial administration, including <br />budgeting and reporting; automatic financial information systems. <br />Ability to: Analyze and interpret financial, accounting, and / or payroll records; prepare <br />financial research and report preparation methods and techniques; apply Federal, State, and local <br />laws and regulations, PERS rules and regulations and Employee Handbook pertaining to, <br />accounting and auditing work; examine, verify, and prepare financial documents and reports; <br />examine and verify a wide variety of financial documents and reports; prepare a variety of <br />complex financial statements, reports, and analyses; communicate clearly and concisely, both <br />orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with those <br />Resolution 07-19 Page 3 <br />
