The project application had been continued with direction to the <br /> applicant to redesign the project in an attempt to save some of the heritage oaks proposed <br /> for removal. <br /> REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES, SUB-COMMITTEES,AND <br /> COUNCILMEMBERS ON OUTSIDE AGENCIES <br /> 14. 2009 Annual Town Picnic Proposal—Community Relations Committee <br /> Duffy Price Community Relations Committee e member, introduced the item to Council. <br /> She noted that she was making the presentation on behalf of Chair Roy Woolsey who was <br /> unable to attend the meeting. Roger Burnell, Community Relations Committee, was also <br /> in attendance and available to respond to an questions Council might have. Council had <br /> P any g <br /> the detailed <br /> and the"Final Town Picnic Report"before them. <br /> proposal P <br /> The Committee was recommending no increase to the previous year's funding for the <br /> event and was requesting a budget of$25,000. The 2008 Town Picnic had an attendance <br /> of approximately 1,500 residents and Town staff and expenditures were $22,330.85. A <br /> similar format was proposed with entertainment, meals and beverages at no cost to <br /> residents attending. The event was scheduled for June 7, 2009. <br /> Price explained that the proposal also included a request for assistance from Town staff <br /> with certain aspects of the Picnic, similar to the functions they that had performed in <br /> recent years. <br /> Council thanked Price and the Community Relations Committee for their tireless efforts <br /> and year long planning and preparation for the very successful community event. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Warshawsky, seconded by Kerr and <br /> passed unanimously to approve a not-to-exceed appropriation of$25,000.00 for the 2009 <br /> Town Picnic. <br /> STAFF REPORTS <br /> City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> City Clerk <br /> No reports were given. <br /> City Engineer—Update on Eastbrook Avenue Sanitary Sewer Line (Verbal Report) <br /> City Engineer/Public Works Director Richard Chiu provided a brief report to Council on <br /> the status of the Eastbrook sewer line. Staff had met with the neighborhood <br /> representatives that had spoken at the previous Council meeting.
