Minutes of a Special Meeting <br /> September 7, 2000 <br /> Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> City Council Special Meeting <br /> Thursday, September 7, 2000, 5:30 P.M. <br /> Council Chambers, 26379 Fremont Road <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL <br /> Mayor Finn called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. in <br /> the Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Mayor Finn and Councilmembers Casey, Cheng and <br /> Dauber <br /> Absent: Councilmember Johnson <br /> Staff: Acting City Manager Bob Quinlan, Planning Director Carl <br /> Cahill, Public Works Manager Jim Rasp and City Clerk Pat <br /> Dowd <br /> 2. DISCUSSION OF GENERAL TOPICS OF INTEREST WITH THE <br /> REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY <br /> SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br /> The representatives from the Sheriff's Department introduced themselves to <br /> Council: Captain Jeff Miles, Sergeant Robert Linderman, Lieutenant Dennis <br /> Gregory, Deputy Sheriff James Post and Deputy Sheriff Ruben Medina. <br /> Several issues were addressed including the use and location of the radar trailer, <br /> false alarms, parking on sides of roads, and responses to 911 calls. Council asked <br /> that they receive copies of the reports given to the City Manager on the location of <br /> the radar trailer. Concerning parking on sides of roads, it was noted that in the <br /> first nine months of the year sixty parking citations were issued and eleven cars <br /> were towed. In general warnings were given to owners of cars parked on streets <br /> and paths reminding them that according to the Code it was not allowed. Usually <br /> a complaint was received stating that the car was parked illegally, one could not <br /> get around it and had to go out into the street which they thought was dangerous, <br /> the use of pathways was impeded or it was thought the vehicle was abandoned. <br /> Council agreed that the code on this issue should be reviewed and brought back <br /> • <br /> September 7, 2000 <br /> Special City Council Meeting <br /> 1 <br />
