to Council. On false alarms the representatives from the Sheriffs Department <br /> noted that in the first nine months of the year there had been 249 "911" calls and <br /> 365 false alarms. They reviewed their procedures for responses to such situations <br /> and the high level of 911 calls that were placed in error(misdialed, etc.) Captain <br /> Miles noted that they were focusing heavily on customer relations and efficiently <br /> responding to residents in the overall County on police issues. He also believed <br /> education of the public was important. Toward this end, it was agreed that the <br /> Sheriff s Department would be sent notices requesting articles and <br /> announcements for upcoming Town newsletters. <br /> Council thanked the representatives from the Sheriff s Department for meeting <br /> with them and discussing these issues of importance. <br /> 3.
