Minutes of a Special Meeting <br /> July 15, 1999 <br /> Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> City Council Special Meeting <br /> Thursday, July 15, 1999, 4:00 P.M. <br /> Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL <br /> Mayor Dauber called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 4:10 p.m. in the <br /> Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br /> Present: Mayor Dauber and Councilmembers Casey, Finn(arrived at <br /> 5:10 p.m.), Johnson and Siegel <br /> Absent: None <br /> Staff: City Manager William Norton, Assistant City Attorney Dan Siegel, <br /> Public Works Manager Jim Rasp and City Clerk Pat Dowd <br /> Press: None <br /> 2. PUBLIC HEARINGS: DECISIONS ON REPORT OF DELINQUENT <br /> • LOS ALTOS GARBAGE COMPANY CHARGES <br /> Bill Jones and Kathleen Gonzales were present from the Los Altos Garbage Company to <br /> answer any questions. <br /> Council agreed to open the public hearing and receive comments and then decide on each <br /> delinquent account separately. Section 6-3.17 et seq. of the Los Altos Hills Municipal <br /> Code provided that delinquencies in payment for solid waste and recyclable collection <br /> could be assigned to the Town through the initiation of a lien and special assessment <br /> proceedings. <br /> Fred Barez, owner of property at 10300 Magdalena, (service level: 2 cans; amount due <br /> $427.50) stated that his renter had moved out without paying. LAGCO agreed that this <br /> bill could be reduced by the months the house was actually vacant. <br /> Donna Prudence, 13452 South Fork Lane(service level: universal; amount due$709.05) <br /> stated that they were not using the garbage service. They had to take their cans down to <br /> Three Forks in their car anyway so they just took it to their business in Palo Alto. They <br /> also recycled in Palo Alto. <br /> Ed Turney, owner of property at 23690 Ravensbury, (service level: 1 can; amount due <br /> $936.07)had sent a letter to the Council. He said that he stopped paying his bill when he <br /> was not allowed to participate in the Town's clean up day at Magdalena and 280. Since <br /> then he had not used the services of the garbage company. Instead he has taken his trash <br /> to his office. <br /> July 15, 1999 <br /> Special City Council Meeting <br /> 1 <br />
