4.13 REMOVAL OF NAME <br /> The name of any person appearing on an eligible list shall be removedby the City <br /> Manager if the eligible so requests in writing, or fails to respond within ten (10) days <br /> to a notification of an opening from the City Manager. <br /> 4.14 TYPE OF APPOINTMENTS <br /> Vacancies may be filled by reemployment, promotion, transfer, demotion, <br /> appointment of hourly employees, or from the appropriate eligible list, if available.. <br /> No specific list shall have priority over other lists. The City Manager shall decide in <br /> what manner the vacancy is to be filled. <br /> 4.15 APPOINTMENTS _ <br /> The City Manager shall make final appointments. When a position is to be;filled <br /> from a promotional or open eligible list, the City Manager, after consultation with <br /> the department head, shall choose from:thespecified list any of the candidates on the <br /> eligible list.. If no person among the candidates indicates a willingness to accept the <br /> appointment, the City Manager may request a new examination to establish a new <br /> eligible list, or may fill the position by any other method authorized by these <br /> Personnel Rules. <br /> The person acceptingappointment shall report to the City Manager on the date <br /> designated by the-City Manager; otherwise, the applicant shall be deemed to have <br /> declined the appointment. <br /> 4.16 PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS <br /> In the absence of appropriate eligibility lists, a provisional appointment may be made <br /> by the City Manager, of a person meeting' the minimum training and experience <br /> qualifications for the position. An employment list shall be established within six (6) <br /> months for any regular position filled by provisional appointment. The City <br /> Manager may extend the period for any provisional appointment for not mire than <br /> • ninety(90) days by any one action. <br /> No special credit shall be allowed in meeting any qualifications or in the giving of <br /> any test or the establishment of any open, competitive promotional lists, for service <br /> rendered under a provisional appointment. <br /> Personnel Policy Manual 9 02/07/2002 <br />
