For any material cause which in•the judgmentof the City Manager would <br /> render the applicant unfit for the position. <br /> ' :4.4 NOTICE OF REJECTION OF APPLICATION _ • <br /> Defective applications may be returned to the applicant with notice to amend and <br /> refile,provided that the time limit for receiving applications has not expired. <br /> 4.5 _ _ SET:FCTION PROCESS <br /> - - After the time limit for receiving applications for a particular position has expired, <br /> the City Manager shall determine the'total number of applicants who meet the <br /> minimum qualifications for the positions. The chosen applicants shall then be given <br /> further consideration for the position by being allowed to participate further in the <br /> • selection process. The..particular selection process shall be established for each, <br /> position by the City.Manager. <br /> 4.6' WAIVER OF RESPONSIBILITY <br /> Candidates required to take part in physical agility or demonstration tests will be <br /> required to sign a waiver of responsibility freeing the Town of all liability arising <br /> . from injuryy incurred,during the examination. <br /> 4.7 PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATIONS. • <br /> • When the City Manager finds that it is in the best interests of the Town, vacancies in _ <br /> the competitive service.shall be filled by promotion from, within, the competitive <br /> service, after an eligibility list is established. Only employees who meet the <br /> requirements for the classification set forth in the promotional examination <br /> announcements may be admitted to promotional examinations. If, in the opinion of <br /> the City,Manager, it is in the best interest of the Town to use an open, competitive. <br /> examination instead of a closed, promotional examination, then he/she shall call for. <br /> applications for the vacancy and:arrange for an open, competitive examination and <br /> Personnel Policy Manual:.. . 7 02/07/2002. <br />
