• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 16-90 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS TO DESIGNATE A <br /> SOURCE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING TASK FORCE <br /> RESOLVED, by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills, County of <br /> Santa Clara, that <br /> WHEREAS, Division 30, Section 40950, , of the California Public <br /> Resources Code, effective January 1, 1990, requires each county in the State <br /> to convene a Source Reduction and Recycling Task Force by March 1, 1990, to <br /> assist in developing the city and county source reduction and recycling <br /> elements of the Countywide Integrated Waste Management Plan prepared <br /> pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 41000 et. seq. and to prepare the <br /> countywide siting element required pursuant to Public Resources Code <br /> Section 41700 et. seq.; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 40950 further requires that membership of said <br /> Task Force shall be determined by the Board of Supervisors and a majority <br /> of the cities within the county which contain a majority of the population in <br /> the county; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of the Task Force is to ensure a coordinated <br /> and cost-effective regional recycling system, and to develop goals, policies, <br /> and procedures consistent with guidelines and regulations adopted by the <br /> State Integrated Waste Management Board (IWMB); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Task Force may include representatives of the solid <br /> waste industry, environmental organizations, general public, special districts, <br /> and affected governmental agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors and the cities of Santa Clara <br /> County have already established a solid waste decision-making structure <br /> 1 <br />
