and passed unanimously to ask the Mayor to send a letter to Chairman Larry Stone <br /> expressing the Council's support of the Hands on the Arts Festival but noting that the <br /> Town would not be financially supporting the project at this time. <br /> Tryon suggested that the Council's policy on what they financially supported be <br /> discussed. <br /> 8.2 Microfilming Town's Vital Records <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Tryon, seconded by van Tamelen <br /> and passed unanimously to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement <br /> with Staude Micrographics to microfilm vital Town records and to appropriate $6,750 <br /> from the unallocated reserves. <br /> Dr. Philip Dauber, Chairman - Finance Committee, commented that he thought this <br /> project was a good idea. <br /> 8.3 Request from Santa Clara Valley Water District to Indicate Town Support of <br /> 20 Percent Water Use Reduction, When Compared With 1987 Usage Levels <br /> Siegel commented that he was concerned about this action as the figures were not yet <br /> available from San Francisco. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Tryon, seconded by Johnson and <br /> passed unanimously to continue this item to the next agenda. <br /> 8.4 Non-Point Source Control Program <br /> The City Manager explained that the Town and twelve other jurisdictions in the Santa <br /> Clara Valley had been involved in the analysis of non-point discharge for some time. <br /> The mandate of the Federal Clean Water Act and the Bay Basin Plan is to remove <br /> pollution that negatively impacts the beneficial uses of the South Bay. The present <br /> program is intended to remove man-made pollution from the storm run-off. <br /> Mr. Walt Wadlow, Santa Clara Valley Water District, commented on the advantages of <br /> joining this program and noted that a meeting was scheduled for March 23rd to <br /> continue discussion of wording of the agreement. <br /> March 21, 1990 <br /> 11 <br />
