it 11 . COUNCIL BUSINESS: (continued) : <br /> An inquiry had also been made by van Tamelen regarding the appointment <br /> of two Councilmembers to this committee. The procedure was for such <br /> appointments to be formally made by the Council and it was agreed to <br /> agendize the issue for the second Council meeting in October as van <br /> Tamelen would not be present at the next Council meeting. <br /> Rosemary Meyerott , Town Historian, noted that flyers on the Griffin <br /> House would be sent to all those in the Foothill College District . <br /> She also commented that interest had been expressed by a group <br /> interested in using the house as a museum. Mrs . Meyerott asked what <br /> the Council response would be if the Griffin House were indeed <br /> demolished. It was agreed that the City Attorney would prepare a <br /> report for the second meeting in October on the issue of the Griffin <br /> House with particular reference to the matter of Town regulations and <br /> policies as related to school district property. <br /> PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To continue the discussion of the Griffin House <br /> to the second meeting in October and to direct the City Attorney to <br /> prepare a report on the issue. <br /> 11.3 Disclosure and Noticed Meetings <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Casey, seconded by Tryon and <br /> 4111, passed unanimously by all members present to appoint Bob Johnson and <br /> Bill Siegel as a sub-committee of the Council to address the issue of <br /> a proposed policy on full disclosure. Comments will be requested from <br /> Councilmembers, Planning Commissioner and staff and the sub-committee <br /> will bring a recommendation on said policy back to the Council for <br /> approval. <br /> 11 . 4 Intergovernmental Council (IGC) Status Report <br /> Siegel reported that a retreat had been scheduled for October 5 to <br /> discuss the issue of land use/transportation management. Regarding the <br /> toxics ordinance, it was still being drafted by the attorneys and <br /> opposition to it was being voiced by the chlorine industry. Siegel <br /> also reported that a request had been received from the Human <br /> Relations Commission for approval in concept of a hate crimes <br /> ordinance. At this time this was an informational item. He commented <br /> that IGC had an ongoing task force on child care and the homeless <br /> program. <br /> 11. 5 Tryon: Santa Clara Valley Water District <br /> Tryon noted that a request had been received from the Water District <br /> regarding Town representation on the Northwest Flood Control Zone <br /> Advisory Committee. Since they asked for Council action by October <br /> 10th, Tryon suggested adding this item to the agenda as an urgency <br /> item. <br /> -13- 9/20/89 <br />
