E. CONSENT CALENDAR: (continued) : <br /> iblr <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Siegel , seconded by van Tamelen <br /> and passed unanimously to approve the minutes of the 4/20/88 Council <br /> Meeting with the following correction on page 7, last paragraph should <br /> read: 'The Safety Committee, at their 3/24/88 meeting, determined that <br /> a stop sign was necessary on Summerhill because of the possibility of <br /> Summerhill becoming a through street from Magdalena to El Monte. ' and <br /> to approve the minutes of the 5/4/88 Council Meeting with the <br /> following correction on page 12, Item J. 7, change ' upgrading services ' <br /> to ' a special transportation project ' . <br /> F. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR: <br /> Betsy Leight, 14200 Sholes Court, reported to the Council that her <br /> neighbors had drilled a well on their property very close to her <br /> property line and she was requesting that all work be stopped on this <br /> project pending an environmental impact study being performed. She was <br /> very concerned about the location of the well and lower water levels. <br /> Bill Ekern noted that the Santa Clara Valley Water District issued <br /> permits for wells and the Town had no fixed policy on this issue. It <br /> was agreed staff would prepare a report on this matter and Mrs. Leight <br /> would be contacted when the report was completed. <br /> Mr. Chris Rudnicki, representing the AT&T Fourman Cycling Challenge , <br /> Q thanked the Council for approving the use of certain Town streets for <br /> the Bicycling Event scheduled for Sunday, May 22 to support the <br /> Special Olympics. After careful consideration, however, they had <br /> changed the course of the event for safety reasons and would not be <br /> going through the Town afterall . On behalf of the Special Olympics , <br /> Mr. Rudnicki expressed their appreciation for the Council ' s support <br /> and cooperation. <br /> G. REPORT FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION: <br /> Planning Commissioner Emling reported that the following items were <br /> discussed at the 5/11/88 Commission Meeting: 1) Lands of Mueller, <br /> conditional use permit approved (on Consent Calendar) and 2) Lands of <br /> Frias, 28333 Christophers Lane, new house approved. Commissioner <br /> Emling noted that an appeal of this decision was being filed with the <br /> Town and the matter would go before the Council for a public hearing. <br /> He urged the Council to visit the property prior to the hearing. It <br /> was the Commission' s opinion that the proposed house was appropriate <br /> for the lot. The Planning Commission also held a study session on <br /> zoning ordinance amendments . <br /> H. PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br /> 1. LANDS OF OSHIMA, FILE TM #1-88 , 25891 Fremont Road, request for <br /> approval of negative declaration and tentative map for a two lot <br /> subdivision - Resolution # approving tentative parcel map of <br /> Lands of Oshima (continued from last meeting) <br /> -4- 5/18/88 <br />
