G. NEW BUSINESS (CONTINUED) : <br /> fir' 2 . Request from Los Altos Garbage Company for rate increase for debris <br /> box service in Los Altos Hills <br /> The City Manager presented his staff report dated 8/12/87 which noted <br /> that staff and representatives of the Los Altos Garbage Company had <br /> determined that a 13.5% increase would be adequate to offset the <br /> increase in the Mountain View landfill cost. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Plummer, seconded by Dronkert <br /> and passed unanimously to approve an adjustment to the Los Altos <br /> Garbage Company drop box rate to the new rate identified in the <br /> 8/12/87 staff report prepared by the City Manager and on file at Town <br /> Hall . <br /> 3. Request from Gene Mariani requesting relief from variance fees <br /> required for his addition of a gate <br /> The Council had before them the letter from Mr. and Mrs. Mariani dated <br /> 8/4/87 requesting relief from the $1 , 500 variance fee costs for their <br /> permit to add a gate to their residence. As they noted in their <br /> letter, they felt the fees were rather excessive since the whole <br /> project cost was estimated at $5, 000. <br /> 1 toy MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Dronkert, seconded by Siegel and <br /> passed unanimously to require the $500 variance fee but to eliminate <br /> the $1, 000 deposit for the variance application for Lands of Mariani <br /> at 23475 Camino Hermosa for gate construction. <br /> H.
