R-1-A Zoning Overlay District <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Siegel , seconded by van Tamelen <br /> and passed unanimously to adopt Resolution #92-87 setting the time and <br /> place of a hearing on a proposed R-1-A Zoning Overlay District. <br /> G. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Resolution # approving and authorizing establishment of the <br /> position of Public Works Director <br /> Council had before them the City Manager ' s report dated 8/27/87 which <br /> recommended establishing the position of Public Works Director and <br /> stated his intention to appoint the current Assistant Public Works <br /> Director, Bill Ekern, to this position, if approved. <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by <br /> Dronkert and passed unanimously to adopt Resolution #93-87 approving <br /> and authorizing establishment of the position of Public Works <br /> Director . <br /> Council expressed their appreciation to Bill Ekern for the excellent <br /> contributions he had made to the Town and noted they were looking <br /> forward to his appointment as Public Works Director. <br /> 2 . Resolution # determining that the work required to install the <br /> flashing yellow beacons on Fremont Road at Fremont Pines needs to <br /> be performed immediately on an emergency basis , and authorizing <br /> the entering into of a contract therefor <br /> The City Manager noted that not all the details had been worked out <br /> regarding the resolution before Council but he was recommending <br /> adopting the resolution so that the project could proceed. If there <br /> were any problems he would bring the matter back to the Council . <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Plummer, seconded by van Tamelen <br /> and passed unanimously to adopt Resolution #94-87 determining that the <br /> work required to install yellow flashing beacon lights needs to be <br /> performed immediately on an emergency basis, and authorizing the <br /> entering into a contract therefor with Cupertino Electric at an amount <br /> not to exceed $5, 830 . <br /> 4111. <br /> 5- 9/2/87 <br />
