1. OTHER BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Reports from Standing Committees : <br /> a) Safety Committee: recommendation regarding guard- <br /> rails at 25311 Fremont Road <br /> The Safety Committee at their 8/25/87 meeting recommended that a fence <br /> consisting of vertical metal posts be installed in front of 25311 <br /> Fremont Road and that reflective lane delineators be installed. The <br /> Safety Committee commented, however, that staff should review and <br /> report on this recommendation. <br /> Mrs. Gloria Spitzer, 25311 Fremont Road, stated that there was a sharp <br /> curve in front of her house and as a result of speeding cars had <br /> landed in her yard. There had been three accidents in three years . <br /> While she had attempted to form some kind of barrier by planting <br /> trees , she had not been successful and was now requesting the Town to <br /> install 'aesthetic barriers ' . <br /> MOTION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by van Tamelen, seconded by <br /> Dronkert and passed unanimously to refer this matter to staff for a <br /> report at the next Council Meeting and to request that staff include <br /> in that report a financial report on the cost of this fence and the <br /> one that was recently M to-1-}ed on Adobe Lane. <br /> approved (MOUE) BY COUNCIL 10/21/87) <br /> 2. Reports from Ad Hoc Committees : <br /> j. STAFF REPORTS: <br /> 1 . City Manager: <br /> a) Discussion of garbage rate increase for disposal costs <br /> The City Manager referred to his staff report dated 9/10/87 which <br /> recommended that no action be taken on this matter at this time and <br /> that staff would return with a proposed rate adjustment in November <br /> for a December 1 effective date. <br /> PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To take no action on this matter at this time. <br /> b) Report on Town owned lands and park development <br /> The City Manager ' s report dated 9/9/87 addressed the report prepared <br /> in 1984 on Town-owned lands by the Environmental Design, Parks and <br /> Recreation Committee. The Manager ' s report noted that the committee <br /> suggested that two of the Town-owned properties could possibly be used <br /> for horse boarding facilities and the Little League Fields could <br /> possibly also be used for soccer. <br /> -6- 9/16/87 <br />
