CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - October 31, 1985 <br />L B. STATUS RETORT ON INSURANCE MA ERS: (continued): <br />Mr. Gary Sherrer, Flamer and Company, welcaned any offer of assistance on the <br />part of Mr. Rause and commented that at the time Great Global had been chosen <br />it had had an A -rating. <br />bMION SECONDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Rydell, seconded by Fuhrnan and passed <br />unanimously by all mess present to enter into an agreemnt with Alliance <br />Insurance Company for liability insurance. <br />'I�IYY �' ml l •'Yi LM �' L It � <br />The City Attorney reported that an action had been filed seeking a temporary <br />restraining order and preliminary and permanent injunction with respect to the <br />grading activities on the Ians of Jarvis, 2055 Old Page Mill Brad. The hearing <br />on this matter was scheduled for 11/19/85. <br />D. REPORT ON VIOLATIONS OF TOWN'S SIGN ORDINANCE: <br />The City Manager reported that under the current ordinance on political signs, <br />they were prohibited completely on public property and partially restricted on <br />private property. As it was extremely difficult for the Town to determine exactly <br />what is Tuan property, he stated that signs would not be removed unless they <br />presented a safety hazard. The City Manager asked that Council initiate a review <br />of the sign ordinance prior to the next election including the recamandations that <br />all wall signs be prohibited and signs net be allowed any closes than 2 to 3' <br />from the edge of pavement. <br />PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To initiate a reviews of the sign ordinance prior to the next <br />election and to place on a future Council agenda for review and discussion. <br />Mr. Gene Smith, 26950 Moody Court, caamented on the reroval of signs from his <br />Property and also noted that Mr. Bellucci had removed several trees on his property <br />SO his political signs could be seen more clearly.
