CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - January 18, 1984 <br />F. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />4. Comments frmn Council (continued): <br />b) Mayor Pro Tan Allison - Solid Waste Managanent Board Meeting - report <br />Allison reported that the following actions were passed at the Board Meeting: <br />1) Bryan Canyon technically feasible but apparently not politically feasible <br />at this time; 2) access road not approved; 3) SVM staff directed to report to <br />the Board on 2/15/84 with a reo meendation as to whether a cost-effective <br />recycling program can be pursued through S*1A or a reconstituted authority; and <br />4) SmA staff directed to report to the Board on 2/15/84 with a dissolution <br />plan, to include recomlendations concerning technical data, contractual rights, <br />financial obligations and disposition of physical assets. <br />c) Councilman Proft - Transportation Commission <br />Proft reported on the 1/11/84 meeting of the Transportation Oimnission which <br />included the CmmAssion's rem:mandation to the Board of Supervisors on the <br />five-year transit plan (1985-89) . This recomrerdation will be presented to <br />the Board at their 1/17/84 meeting. <br />va•�•� ��••,a. •� ms « m � i � «a is <br />1. City Manager: <br />a) Report on Recycling: <br />The City Manager reported that options for recycling were being reviewed and <br />additional information would be reported to Council when received. It was <br />suggested that Foothill College be contacted as a possible source of interest. <br />b) Report on Street Lighting: <br />The City Manager noted that certain residents had conplained about the lighting <br />on the Town Hall driveway. These lights were maintained by PG&E and these were <br />various options available to the Council to address this matter: remove the <br />lights, lower than or time deme so they turn out at night. <br />PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To direct staff to contact PG&E for their suggestions <br />regarding the maintenance of the lights at the Town Hall driveway with the <br />possibility of light shields to be particularly addressed. <br />c) Request for traffic markers and lighting - E1 Monte <br />The City Manager reported that a request had been received from a resident for <br />traffic markers and lighting at the intersection of E1 Monte and O'Keefe. <br />PASSED BY CCNSENSUS: To direct staff to have reflective bots dots placed at this <br />intersection to assist motorists in detennining the left turn lane onto O'Keefe; <br />no approval was given by Council for a traffic signal at this intersection. <br />Q9 <br />
