CTPy COUNCIL MINUPFS - October 19, 1983 <br />D. SPECIAL REPOHPS: Item 2.a) continued; <br />MJ ION SECONDED AND FAILED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Hillestad and failed <br />by the following roll call vote to add the following amendment to the above - <br />stated motion: 'with no access off O'Keefe'. <br />AYES: Councilman Perkins <br />NOES: Mayor van Tamelen and Councilmenbers Allison, Hillestad and Proft <br />PASSED By cawA VSUS: To direct the City Planner to review the spheres of influence <br />under discussion and to contact LAFCO for pertinent background information. <br />3. Caaments fon Council: <br />a) Mayor van Tamelen: Suggestion regarding proclamations and resolutions <br />MJPION SE0CMED AND CAN=: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Proft and passed <br />unanimously to take the following action regarding proclamations and resolutions: <br />the Council will no longer officially support causes of general merit unless an <br />issue is unique to the cmuw ity of Los Altos Hills or of enough special interest <br />to some of the Town's residents that they make personal requests for support. <br />b) Mayor van Ta glen: "Help" WeetheriZatiOn Program <br />The Mayor reported that Economic and Social Opportunities, Inc. was providing <br />hone weatherization at no cost to qualified low-income 1rneowners in Santa Clara <br />County. Residents could call Town Hall for additional information and it was <br />suggested the newspapers advise their readers of the availability of this program. <br />c) ()Dmcilman Allison: Community Health Abuse Council <br />Allison reported that CHAC had adopted their 1983-84 budget which included a <br />$4,350 request for support fon Los Altos Hills. This report was for Council's <br />infomnation; no action was necessary. <br />d) Councihnan Allison - 10/12/83 San Jose Mercury Article on Town's Budget <br />Allison bad requested the City Attorney to prepare a report on what is involved <br />in a Town budget. This report should be available to Council prior to the next <br />meeting. <br />e) Councilman Allison - Solid Waste Manageent Board <br />Allison reported on the revised schedule concerning the feasibility study which <br />included February 1, 1984 as the date for the Board's decision and the months of <br />February and March 1984 for review by the agencies involved. Allison also comuented <br />on the possible exploration of Berkeley's recycling program which appeared to be a <br />profitable enterprise. <br />4. Reports fon the Planning Co mission: <br />Commissioner Struthers reported that a quornmm for the last meeting was not obtained <br />until 8:15 p.m. Several items were continued to the next meeting; however, Lands <br />of Rizzi was approved on 10/12/83. <br />ae <br />
