II, Side I, 001 -end Mayor van Tamelen called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Toon Hall. MUTION SEOOfIDID AND CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Proft and passed unani- mously by all members present to change the order of the agenda as follows: Item E.1 would be heard under Itan C. Presentations from the Floor. A. CONSENT CALENDAR: Item Removed: B.1 (City Manager) MOTION SEODNDED AND CARRIED: Moved by Proft, seconded by Perkins and passed unanimously by all members present to approve the balance of the Consent Calendar, specifically: 2. Approval of Warrants: $46,169.93 3. Actions of the Planning Commission: recommended granting of the following: a) LANDS OF MARCUS, File VAR #9-83 C. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FTWR: 1. Chancellor Thomas Fryer - Foothill-DeAma CaRmuuity college District - Infornstional Presentation Chancellor Fryer addressed the Council on the financial status of the Foothill- DeAnza College District and presented a detailed handout on the subject entitled 'Foothill-DeAnza Twenty -Six Years of Excellence: Mr. Fryer explained the measures C which were being considered to mitigate the financial situation of the District, `r i.e. Project Independence, a special tax election. Chancellor Fryer concluded his presentation by thanking the Council for the opportunity to bring then up-to- date on the recent activities of the District.
