CITY (DUNCIL MINUTES - July 7, 1982 <br />y� B. CONSENT CALENDAR (continued): Items Removed <br />A' 4. Resolutions for Adoption: <br />*40 <br />d) Resolution # approving and authorizing execution of Law Enforce- <br />ment Contract between the County of Santa Clara, the City of Saratoga, <br />the City of Cupertino, and the City of the Tam of Los Altos Hills <br />Proft asked several questions regarding the contract, i.e. number of }ours billed?; <br />has would the hours be monitored?; and the total cost involved? Allison responded <br />to Proft's questions noting in part that the Town is actually receiving more patrol <br />hours than it is being billed for and that there is a logging process for the <br />number of hours spent in the Tuan. <br />M:)TION SEODNDED AMID CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Proft and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to adopt Resolution #1455 approving and authorizing <br />execution of law enforcement contract between the County of Santa Clara, the City <br />of Saratoga, the City of Cupertino and the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills with <br />the change authorizing the City Manager to execute and attest the law enforcement <br />contract. - 'if he considered it appropriate to do so.' (added by Council 7/21/82) <br />C. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />Reports of Standing Committees: Pathway Co mLittee, Annual "State of the <br />Trails" Report. <br />Mary Stutz, Pathways Committee, noted in addition to the report submitted to <br />Council dated 6/29/82 that a list regarding maintenance projects had also been <br />submitted to the City Manager. Mrs. Stutz also recommended that weed killer be <br />used earlier in the year to help solve the problem. <br />Frank Saul, 27977 Via Ventana, noted the problem of erosion after last winter's <br />rains. <br />Council thanked the Pathways Committee for an excellent report. The Mayor suggested <br />the City Manages be advised of the report for action during the caning year and <br />for consideration of any possible expenditures that may be incurred during the year. <br />Allison did question the problem of weed abatement including the costs involved <br />and asked the City Engineer to look into this problem. <br />2. Reports of Ad Hoc Committees: Committee for Organization of Committees Report <br />Hillestad submitted to Council for their consideration the draft report of their <br />committee which had been prepared by van Tamelen. Hillestad noted that it had <br />been five years sinoe the committee structure had been reevaluated and there was <br />a need for closer contact between the Town and the Committees. In addition to a <br />new committee structure, the committee was also recommending that the Town's infor- <br />mation sheet be updated, a newsletter be sent in August advising the residents of <br />the changes and a workshop be held in September for all interested residents. <br />PASSED BY CONSENSUS: To agendize for the next Council meeting the establishment of <br />a new committee structure. <br />-3- <br />
