CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - February 20, 1980 <br />B. CONSENT CALENDAR: Item Remved - continued: <br />4. Actions of the Planning Connission: <br />a) Recarmenrded amerrhtent to Condition #18 of the Final Revised Check- <br />list of Conditions, RANCID SAN ANTONIO SUBDIVISION, Tract #6314 <br />(initiated at the request of D.R. Lull). <br />MOTION SECONDED AM CARRIED: Moved by Perkins, seconded by Nystrom and passed <br />imaninmusly by all members present to accept the reosumerdation of the Planning <br />Caanission as intended in the City Engineer's February 8, 1980 menorardun, but <br />with the proper wordage to be prepared by staff to put it in the form of a <br />recnmoerdation. <br />b) Reomnendation that a violation of the Site Development Chapter of <br />the Municipal Code has occurred, LANDS OF BINDER, File VAR #7055-78. <br />The City Manager reported that after this item had been placed on the Agenda, an <br />application had been received for a Site Development Permit. Therefore, the City <br />Manager and the City Attorney agreed it was appropriate to refer the matter to the <br />Site Development Cmvittee. <br />MOTION SECONDED AM CARRIED: Moved by Hillestad, seconded by Nystrom and passed <br />unanimously by all members present to refer this matter to the Site Development <br />Committee for consideration. <br />C. SPECIAL REPORTS: <br />4 1. Reports of Standing Committees: <br />a) Traffic & Public Safety: Installation of three stop signs at the <br />intersection of Robleda and Chapin Roads. <br />Mrs. Barbara Gordon, Chainnan/Traffic & Public SafetyCommittee, presented the <br />Cawdttee's rec nmenrdation 1) that stop signs be installed for all directions <br />at the intersection of Robleda and Chapin Roads to improve safety, (in conjunc- <br />tion with stop ahead warning signs, 3 -way signs to clarify right-of-way, limit <br />lines, striping, and any other safety measures needed) and 2) in future planning, <br />to redesign the intersection in order to attain ggocd visibility and to eliminate <br />physical inabilities of making turns. <br />The following residents of Ins Altos Hills spoke in favor of the above remnmcrr <br />dation: Colleen Boyd, Michael Elliott, Gladys Fiske, Casey Otto, George Pfeiffer, <br />Jean Struthers and Debbie Truman. <br />The City Manager advised putting up only one stop sign on Robleda, thus elimin- <br />ating the danger of more two -car accidents due to too many stop signs. <br />MOTION SECONDED APED CARRIED: moved by Perkins, seconded by Hillestad and passed <br />by the following roll call vote to adopt the reccnuendation of the Traffic and <br />Public Safety Crnmittee (installation of three stop signs, appropriate warning <br />signs, directional street signs and upgrade striping) and to exanine the problem <br />of this intersection further toward an ultimate solution. <br />41, AYES: Councilwoman Hillestad, Councilmen Nystrom and Perkins <br />NOES: Mayor Pro Tan Proft <br />-2- <br />
