4W <br />ow <br />AW <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - March 3, 1976 <br />7. RESOLUTIONS RECOGNIZING SERVICE OF COUNCIL MEMBERS: <br />At the request of Mayor Cheney, City Manager Robert Crowe read the <br />Resolution of the City Council expressing appreciation to Leslie A. <br />Helgesson for his service on the City Council, who served as Mayor for <br />a term of two years, and as Mayor Pro Tem for a total of four years. <br />The Resolution commended Mr. Helgesson also for his service as a Member <br />and Chairman of the Santa Clara Valley Hater District Commission; a <br />member of the Santa Clara County Transportation Commission; Council's <br />representative to the Association of Bay Area Governments, Local Agency <br />Formation Commission, and the Town's Bicentennial Commission. <br />Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilman Proft to adopt Resolution <br />#941 expressing appreciation to Leslie A. Helgesson. Motion carried <br />unanimously by roll call vote. <br />Mr. Crowe read the Resolution expressing appreciation to Thomas P. 11cReynolds, <br />who had served on the Council for two and one half years, during which time <br />he served as Council's representative to the Santa Clara County Morthwest <br />Zone Flood Control Advisory Board, the Bicentennial Commission, and pre- <br />viously as a member and Chairman of the Torm's Planning Commission. <br />Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilwoman Hillestad and unani- <br />mously carried by roll call vote to adopt Resolution #942 expressing <br />appreciation to Thomas P. McReynolds for his service on the City Council. <br />Hr. Crowe then read the Resolution expressing appreciation to Diana S. <br />Miller, who, while serving on the Council had been Council's representative <br />to the Community Health Abuse Council; served as an alternate of the Santa <br />Clara Valley Mater District Commission; was alternate representative to the <br />Association of Bay Area Governments; and that Mrs. Miller had served a term <br />of four years as Councilwoman. <br />Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded by Councilman Brown and unanimously <br />carried by roll call vote to adopt Resolution f943 expressing appreciation <br />to Diana S. Miller for her service on the City Council. <br />Immediately following the adoption of the above Resolutions, Mayor Cheney <br />presented ex -Mayor Grabowski with his gavel and stand which had been mounted <br />with an engraved plaque commending him for his service as Mayor for the past <br />two years. <br />Mayor Grabowski expressed his appreciation and stated that much could be <br />done by the Mayor in the County and in Sacramento for the Town. He urged <br />Mayor Cheney and other Council Members to maintain close relationships and <br />communications with elected representatives relative to matters that would <br />affect the Town. <br />-3- <br />
