t CITY COWICIL MEETING - September 3, 1975 <br />SPECIAL REPORTS (Cont'd): <br />"It is suggested that the use of radar publicity for the Town he re- <br />leased with this resolution, if passed by Council and legal advice, <br />simultaneously to offset the effect of the radar announcement." <br />Sneaking from the Floor: <br />I"rs. R. joy n2 Hilltop Drive: Expressed concern for children who most <br />wa k or ri a bicyc es to sc ool now, particularly in the Summerhill Rd. <br />area of the Town. Requested that a pathway be installed for their safety <br />and protection. <br />Mrs. Jean Struthers, Robleda Rd: Concerned over the shoulder area of <br />roads in many Parts oTown where children could not get safety out of <br />the way of on -coming traffic because of the unsafe conditions which existed. <br />She urged Council to consider favorably the recommendation of the Traffic <br />and Public Safety Committee. <br />I•Irs. Sue Mansene, Summerhill Rd: Commented that she had had many dis- <br />cussions with Suoervisor teinberg and others in the County regarding the <br />unsafe conditions of the pathways along Summerhill and supported the <br />recommendations of the Committee. <br />Discussion continued between Council and Staff regardinn the pathway <br />situation along Summerhill, and Bayer Pro Tem Helgesson instructed the <br />Citv Manager to tall: with the City of Los Altos and the County of Santa <br />Clara with renard to this matter. <br />Mrs. Gloria Parks, Templeton Place, Los Altos: Spoke regarding the paths <br />along Robleda Road. Suqqes a homeowners be notified as to what their <br />responsibility was in the upkeep of pathways. <br />Fars. T. Schick, Weston Road: Suggested an article be contributed to the <br />homeonwer s Assn. news etter regarding the pathways. Mayor Pro Ten <br />Helgesson requested that the City Manager see that such an item was sub- <br />mitted to the newsletter. <br />Councilman McReynolds felt the points raised this evening were good ones <br />and should be considered along with traffic control. He spoke regarding <br />the upgrading of Town naths in leveling some areas and clearing the <br />weeds and possibly extending the road for bicyclists. <br />After further discussion, Mr. Crowe was directed to report back to Council <br />at the next meeting as to how the upgrading of the paths and setting aside <br />traffic fine revenue would affect the budget. Council accepted the <br />Committee's report, and directed that their recommendation be placed on <br />the Agenda for the next Council meeting for further consideration. <br />D. City Attorney: Litioation Report <br />MOTInN SECONDED VD CARRIED: Councilman Cheney moved, seconded by Councilman <br />MCReynol('s to approve the settlement of the claim bet-een the Tonin and the County <br />of Santa Clara for the sum of 4390.00.
