PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR: <br />1. Mr. R. Stutz of the Horsemen's Association provided a status report on the <br />proposed horse ring to be built adjacent to the Little League Park at the Youth <br />Recreation Center. He noted the site had many limitations from the standpoint <br />of safety and available space, but it would allow a reasonable facility. He <br />stated a more desirable site would be preferred, however, if one were available. <br />Council concurred to take this matter under advisement and asked that the Horse- <br />man Association further study to determine if an alternate site might be more <br />compatible to their needs and asked Mr. Stutz to make his presentation to the <br />Pathway Committee. <br />RESOLUTIONS• <br />1. Resolution No. 669, a resolution reaffirming Resolutions Nos. 624 and 625. <br />Following discussion, motion by Councilman Miller, seconded by Grabowski <br />to adopt failed. Council concurred to continue this item to June 19th and <br />requested Staff to provide all ordinances referred to in these resolutions <br />for Council review. <br />2. Resolution No. 670-A, a resolution regarding conflict in Vietnam. <br />The City Manager introduced and read in entirety, Resolution No, 670-A, A <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS URGING THE PRESI- <br />DENT AND THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO HALT AND REVERSE ESCALATION <br />OF THE WAR IN SOUTHEAST ASIA AND THE BOMBING AND BLOCKADING OF NORTH VIET- <br />NAM. <br />Floor comments were expressed by Mmes. M. Saviano, S. Smith, J. Carico, <br />M. Gallo and M. Muncie; Messrs: A. Laws, D. MCBell, D. Harryman and K. <br />McFarland and two Foothill College students. <br />Council discussion followed. Councilman Grabowski requested that the rec- <br />ord show Mayor Helgesson's memorandum of May 24th stating, "the Council <br />cannot speak for the whole Town on an issue like this without a vote of <br />the people". Deputy Mayor Davey stated that the Mayor did not realize that <br />the resolution spoke for the City Council and its members and not for the <br />Town as the vote will indicate. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Kubby moved, seconded by Miller <br />to adopt Resolution No. 670-A carried by the following roll call vote: <br />AYES: Councilman Kubby, Miller and Deputy Mayor Davey, NOES: Councilman <br />Grabowski. Absent: Mayor Helgesson. <br />ORDINANCES: <br />1. Ordinance No. 195, EMERGENCY ORDINANCE, setting up additional fire controle <br />Tor Lost to; HilHilIs. <br />Council concurred to table this proposed ordinance. See Unscheduled Item E <br />WARRANTS: MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded <br />Sy Idler and carried unanimously that the warrants as presented in the amount <br />of SDC i=(USALm SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTEEN DOLLARS AND NINETY-SIX CENTS ($6,717.9( <br />be approved and the City Clerk authorized to draw the appropriate warrants. <br />OTHER BUSINESS BY COUNCILMEN: <br />1. Councilman Grabowski xequested a resolution he had prepared "petitioning <br />the State Legislature to distribute service costs of supporting a community <br />college" be on the June 19th agenda. Council concurred. <br />ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Deputy Mayor Davey adjourned the <br />meeting at 11:05 P.M. to a Regular Adjourned Budget Study Session on Wednesday <br />June 7, 1972 at 7:45 P.M. at Tom Hall.
