•APPROVAL OF MINUTES {Cont.} <br />Initial motion, that the minutes indicate floor participants speaking <br />for or against opposition, was amended by Councilmen Miller and concurret <br />to by Councilman Grabowski who had made this motion. <br />MOTIONI SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Grabowski moved, seconded <br />by Mayor Helgesson and carried by majority vote that the minutes <br />Indicate floor participant+s stand as to whether they are for or <br />against an issue providing they request "Let the record so indicate°. <br />Minutes of August 17, 1972 <br />Councilman Davey moved, seconded by Miller and carried by majority <br />vote {Councilman Grabowski abstained as absent} that the minutes of <br />August 17, 1972 be approved as written. <br />Minutes of September 5, 1972 <br />Councilman Davey moved, seconded by Miller and carried by majority <br />vote {Councilman Kubby abstained as absent} that the minutes of <br />September 5, 1972 be approved as written. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Two letters were read from L. Dawson, dated September b and 8, <br />1972 regarding Land Resources Corporation activities. <br />%W 2. The Santa Clara County Flood Control and Water District sent a <br />letter calling attention to a meeting September 22, 10:00 A.M. <br />to discuss reuse of waste water and the relationship of such a <br />program to water importation. <br />3. A letter was read from Bettie Adams, dated September 8, 1972, which <br />commented on the police study and asked that the Council not rush <br />into a four city police but contract with Palo Alto for police <br />service. <br />4. The City of Torrance sent a resolution protesting the So. Calif. <br />Edison Company+s Placement of utility towers in their city and <br />their objections to the insensitivity of the PUC in allowing them <br />to do so. <br />5. Mayor Helgesson read a letter from Richard Hayden thanking the <br />Council for their invitation to attend the City Council meeting <br />but expressing his regrets as not being able to attend. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />1. The City of Mountain View announced a study session covering HUD+s <br />proposal for the °annual arrangement' program for Santa Clara <br />County was to be held Monday, September 25, 1972 at 2:00 P.M. at <br />the Mountain View City Council Chambers. <br />-2- <br />
