SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 2: S.A.D. #6 cont'd.: <br />Resolution No. 576, a Resolution Appointing Engineer and Attorneys, was <br />read. On motion of Councilman Fowles seconded by Councilman Helgesson and <br />unanimously carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />Resolution No. 577, a Resolution of Intention to Acquire and Construct <br />Improvements, was read. On motion of Councilman Fowles seconded by <br />Councilman Helgesson and unanimously carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />The Engineer presented his report, consisting of plans, specifications, <br />estimate of costs, diagram and assessment (24 units, each $5,435.00). <br />After discussion and consideration by the Council, the report was ordered <br />filed. <br />Resolution No. 578, a Resolution of Preliminary Approval of Engineer's <br />Report, was read. On motion of Councilman Fowles seconded by Councilman <br />Helgesson and unanimously carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />Resolution No. 579, a Resolution Establishing Prevailing Wage Scale, was <br />read. On motion of Councilman Fowles seconded by Councilman Helgesson and <br />unanimously carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />Resolution No. 580, a Resolution Appointing Time and Place of Hearing <br />Protests in Relation to Proposed Acquisitions and Improvements, and <br />Directing Notice, was read (April 6, 1970). On motion of Councilman Fowles <br />seconded by Councilman Helgesson and unanimously carried, said Resolution <br />was adopted. <br />L_ Resolution No. 581, a Resolution Describing Proposed Boundaries of <br />Assessment District, Directing Filing of Boundary Map and Assessment <br />Diagram and Directing Recordation of Notice of Assessment, was read. On <br />motion of Councilman Fowles seconded by Councilman Helgesson and unanimously <br />carried, said Resolution was adopted. <br />Council concurred Staff should distribute a letter explaining optional <br />costs included and also explaining possible reductions in costs of the <br />assessment. <br />SCHEDULED ITEM NO. 3: <br />CONSIDERATION OF ADDITIONAL PATROL TO REDUCE TOWN BURGLARIES. <br />Mayor Aiken noted the only action taken at the Special Council Meeting <br />February 5, 1970 in regard to this item had been to request the Law <br />Enforcement Committee's recommendation and to ask the County Sheriff to <br />immediately utilize Auxiliary Officers for additional patrol. <br />Communications were read from Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lumbard, 13027 La Barranca <br />Way, and Stanley Grabowski, 25660 La Lanne Court, supporting immediate <br />employment of a private patrol service. <br />Ken Young, Law Enforcement Committee Chairman, stated the Committee met <br />February 10 and recommended the following: <br />1. Encourage private neighborhood groups to hire private patrol service. <br />2. Encourage neighborhood cooperation pertaining to observation of <br />�. suspicious incidents, notification of absence from residences, etc. <br />3. Town should distribute information to residents concerning crime <br />prevention. <br />-4- <br />
