STAFF REPORTS: City Manager (Berry Hill Farm cont'd.): <br />(4) Backfill the existing earthen ditch on the easterly side of <br />Page Mill and excavate a new ditch of uniform cross and grade <br />connecting to the existing 8" C.M.P. <br />(5) Install a 10' length of 8" C.M.P. at an existing horse crossing. <br />B. Permanent solution, estimated at $3,000 and requiring: <br />(1) Installation of a 15" R.C.P. drainline under the present entrance <br />way, with headwalls at each end. <br />(2) Construction of a paved drainage ditch for 50' on each side of <br />the entrance. <br />(3) Construction of an inlet structure in the general vicinity of the <br />entrance way and then install either an 18" or 21" R.C.P. drain - <br />line under Page Mill Road, terminating in an outfall structure <br />in Matadero Creek. <br />(4) After removing and replacing existing sub -base material, surface <br />at entrance way with asphaltic concrete. <br />Staff recommended Solution A (temporary solution) and was instructed to <br />agenda this item for the April 6 meeting. <br />2. Planning Commission will study sphere of influence boundary as it <br />affects Palo Alto and Los Altos, at their March 23rd meeting. <br />3. City Manager advised Sheriff had provided pamphlets (re: what residents <br />can do to minimize burglaries) to the Los Altos Hills Association, which they <br />in turn mailed to residents. Emergency stickers had not been prepared, but <br />` Staff is investigating either having them printed or obtaining gratuitously <br />from any available source. <br />4. Tree Committee recommends plantings along Concepcion Road be of the <br />Pine family. Council concurred. <br />5. Staff reported of illegal dumping on Purissima Road by Stanard Oil <br />Company. Council directed Staff to provide City Attorney with particulars <br />in order that he might take action for its removal. <br />6. Following a Staff Report concerning a repetitive history of a broken <br />sewer line belonging to Mr. Lionel Campbell, 12254 Tepa Way, and his failure <br />to provide a permanent solution, Council directed the City Attorney to <br />prepare a resolution requesting the Santa Clara County Flood Control District <br />to take action to effect its removal from Adobe Creek. (Refer to RESOLUTIONS.) <br />7. City Manager reported that considerable confusion among the Town's <br />residents resulted from a misleading news release concerning the contract <br />award for the Los Altos sewer project, which allowed a pro rata reduction in <br />tax assessments due to a $402,000 savings in construction and incidental <br />costs. This notice pertained to Summerhill area residents only. <br />8. City Attorney reported he had been reappointed to the Planning and <br />Zoning Committee of the American Bar Association and also was serving on the <br />Special Districts of Taxation Committee of the Association. <br />PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR: <br />iftw 1. Manager explained that Mr. Pierre G. Leroux, 26970 Arastradero Road, <br />had bought in the Whitcomb Subdivision, for which a Parcel Map had been <br />filed.
