CITY COUIJCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />August 4, 1969 <br />REEL 18 - SIDE 2, TRACK 3 -- FOOTAGE 00-781 <br />Mayor Vim. Ross Aiken called the Regular Meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:49 P. M. in the Council Chambers of <br />the Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following <br />members answering roll call: Present: Councilmen Benson, Helgesson, Mayor <br />Aiken. Absent: Councilmen Davey, Fowles <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE: Commissioner W. F. Minckley <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: July 22, 1969. <br />Amendment: Page 7, 3rd para. from bottom, Roll Call vote on Motion to adopt <br />Ordinance No. 156 (re swimming pool services) should read: "Ayes: Councilmen <br />Benson, Davey, Helgesson. Noes: Mayor Aiken. Absent: Councilman Fowls." <br />Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Benson and carried unanimously, that <br />the Minutes of July 22, 1969 be approved amended. <br />�l COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Assistant City Manager reviewed the following. <br />1. D. J. Callaghan, Chief Administrator Officer, Bay Area Pollution Control <br />District, dated July 17, 1969 re alternate means of disposing of household <br />waste after the burning ban takes effect January 1, 1970 in the Bay Area. <br />2. Charles F. Althaus, 10435 Albertsworth Lane, dated August 1, submitting <br />claim for reimbursement of $110.00 for tree damage caused by fire created <br />during repair of street signs. <br />City Attorney advised Council that the claim as presented did not meet the <br />form required by statute and recommended the claim be denied and referred <br />to the insurance carrier. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Benson <br />and carried unanimously, that the claim of Charles F. Althaus be denied and <br />referred to the Town's insurance carrier. <br />Mayor Aiken requested Staff to advise Mr. Althaus that the claim had been <br />referred and the reasons for same. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />1. The Peninsula Division of the League of California Cities will meet <br />August 21, 1969 at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. <br />2. Commissioner Minckley announced the Planning Policy Committee had <br />continued the San Jose Airport Study to August 28 and that all Councilmen <br />were invited to attend. <br />
