UNSCHEDULED ITEM NO. 2: Bobb Tentative Map cont'd.: <br />of access to Lot #2, designated "Not a Building Site", and satisfaction of <br />ordinance requirements pertaining to the existing septic system on Lot #1. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by <br />Helgesson and carried unanimously, that the Tentative Map of Howard S. Bobb <br />(358-69) be approved, subject to the conditions of the Check List. <br />STAFF REPORTS: <br />City Manager: <br />1. County Sheriff's Office has indicated support for licensing of bicycles <br />and will provide materials, keep records and insure enforcement if the Town <br />adopts a resolution authorizing voluntary licensing of bicycles and is <br />responsible for the physical issue of the licenses. City Manager noted a <br />resolution would be prepared authorizing voluntary licensing of bicycles <br />that would specify a $2.00 licensing fee for a five (5) year period, with <br />$1.00 of the fee to be distributed to the County Sheriff's Office. <br />Council concurred said resolution should be placed on the next Agenda. <br />2. Presented progress report on negotiations with Palo Alto School District <br />re acquisition of Little League property on Purissima Road, noting County <br />Counsel anticipates the School District proposal will be completed within <br />two to four weeks. <br />3. Noted Staff review is proceeding concerning weed control and that there <br />is a need for legislation and means to recover costs of cutting weeds along <br />Town roads. <br />4. Requested permission to miss the next Council meeting, August 18. <br />Council concurred permission should be granted. <br />S. Presented and reviewed memorandum dated August 4, 1969 (on file at the <br />Town Hall)re work needed on and near La Cresta Drive to prevent movement of <br />soil, noting that private property oimers, Mr. Jack P. Kilburn and Dr. Thomas <br />C. Poulter, should be directed to take corrective action to eliminate <br />potential slide hazards in the vicinity of Anacapa Drive prior to the winter <br />rains. City Manager recommended the Town undertake corrective and preventive <br />measures on La Cresta Drive by sealing cracks in the pavement, resurfacing <br />and resloping pathway, and installing sub -drain. City Manager noted <br />the work on La Cresta Drive represented an estimated cost of $3,000.00 to <br />the Town, which would come out of the Public Works Budget. <br />Council concurred Staff should proceed with the recommended improvements on <br />La Cresta Drive before the winter rains. <br />Mr. Stanley Corbett,26440 Anacapa Drive, noted the limited time schedule <br />before the winter rains and questioned Town enforcement of the private <br />property improvements. <br />Council concurred City Attorney should report in two weeks, following <br />contact with Mr. Kilburn and Dr. Poulter. <br />6. Noted Dictograph Security Systems would like to present a demonstration <br />before the Council of a burglar alarm system. Council concurred this could <br />be scheduled at a future date. <br />7. Stated a contract had been entered into with Sherman McCormick for <br />$100.00 to provide an appraisal of the property donated to the Town on Page <br />Mill Road by Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Dawson. <br />-3- <br />
