r SECOND READING - ORDINANCE NO. �, adopting County Regulations re stray <br />4r animals. <br />Council concurred to take this item out of order on the agenda, due to the <br />number of people in the ordinance desiring to speak on this matter. <br />City Attorney reviewed the section of the County Ordinance, which is <br />presently excluded from Town ordinances: "Article 4 - General Regulations - <br />Section 4.3.4-1: Stray Animals - No person awning or having control of any <br />animal shall permit such animal to stray or run at large upon any public <br />street or other public place, or any unenclosed private lot or other une <br />enclosed private place in the County of Santa Clara, or upon any private <br />place or property without the consent of the owner or person in control <br />thereof." <br />City Clerk stated twenty-five communications had been received in favor of <br />stronger dog controls, and twenty-four communications had been in opposition <br />to same. <br />Mayor Aiken stated he had been informed that County Health Department <br />records indicated fifty dog bites had been reported in Los Altos Hills <br />within the past year. <br />Council discussion ensued concerning increased dog controls, with Floor <br />participation by the following: <br />1. Onnosed to increased doq controls <br />`, Mr. Gardner Bullis, 14085 Manuella Road <br />Mrs, a. Greenhood, 10625 Magdalena Road <br />2. In favor of increased don controls <br />Mrs. N. L. Laws, 11210 Hooper lane <br />David Gulick, 25091 Tepa Way <br />Ruth Tabor, La Cresta Drive <br />Mrs. James Mueller, 12728 La Cresta Drive <br />3. General Comments <br />Robert Abler, 26740 Robleda Court <br />Barbara Lumbard, 13027 La Barranca Road <br />Mrs. Peter Hall, 12117 Foothill Lane <br />Alan Lambert, Drawer AG, Los Altos <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Benson moved, seconded by iq <br />Helgesson and carried unanimously by roll call vote, that Ordinance No. hd6 <br />be adopted. <br />Council concurred to form a Citizens Committee to review the area of dog <br />control and make recommendations on a long term solution. <br />L -3- <br />
