Scheduled Item No. 2. REEL 6 <br />REPORT ON STATUS OF PALO ALTO SEWER CONTRACT - City Manager: SIDE 1 <br />TRACK 1 <br />City ilanager reviewed status of the proposed Palo Alto Sewer Contract 295 <br />and noted that it would be desirable for the Town to indicate its <br />intent on a contract to the Palo Alto City Council prior to their <br />march 11th meeting. <br />MOTION AND SACOND: Councilman Fowls moved, Seconded by Davey, -flat the <br />i-1ayor indicate in a letter to the Palo Alto City Council the Town's <br />intent to enter into the proposed contract upon formation of Sewer <br />Assessment District No. 3. <br />Council discussion ensued. At Councilman Aiken's request, the following <br />statement is incorporated, without objection, at this point of the Minutes: <br />"Since this contract is based on sewering the entire portion of the Town <br />which drains toward Palo Alto, it means sawering this entire area; therefore, <br />I cannot in good conscience support it.'' <br />CARRIED: The Motion was carried by a majority voice vote, Councilmen <br />Aiken ane. Henson opposed. <br />Scheduled Item No. 3. REEL 6 <br />DISCUSSION OF SEPTIC TANK PROBLEM - Councilman Aiken. SIDE 1 <br />TRACK 1 <br />Councilman Aiken emphasized that the Town should give.more serious 344 <br />consideration to sub -community systems suggested in the Matcalf & Eddy <br />Report, noting that all alternatives should be considered before <br />approving the Palo Alto Contract. <br />Scheduled Item No. A. REEL 6 <br />DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK ORDINANCE - Councilman Aiken. SID; 1 <br />TRACK 1 <br />At Councilman Aiken's request, the following statement is incorporated 365 <br />without objection at this point of the Minutes: "I want to make it <br />abundantly clear that I do not agrae with what I consider to W <br />excessive requirements in this ordinance.'' <br />Councilman Aiken suggested the ordinance be deferred for additional <br />review. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AVID CARRIED: Councilman Aiken moved, Seconded by <br />Benson, and carried unanimously, that the first reading of Ordinance <br />No. 136 be deferred. <br />Scheduled Item No. 5. REAL 6 <br />DISCUSSION OF SLOPE DENSITY ORDINANCE - Councilman Benson. SIDE I <br />PROPOSED JOINT MEETING WITH PLANNING COCM1ISSION RE SLOPE DENSITY - TRACK 1 <br />Councilman Davey. 374 <br />Councilman Benson noted Planning Commission conclusions on slope density <br />and suggested Council initiate action on Phase II of the slope density <br />` study. Councilman Davey requested a joint meeting with the Commission to <br />` discuss slope density and suggested Council incorporate the Commission's <br />formula into an amergeney ordinance. <br />Council deferred discussion to Planning Commission Referrals, later in <br />the Agenda. <br />-3- <br />
