CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />October 7, 1968 <br />REEL 13, SIDE 1, TRACK 4 - FOOTAGE 00-271 <br />Deputy Mayor Walter A. Benson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />of the Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:46 P. M. in the Council Chambers <br />of the Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following <br />members answering roll call: Present: Councilmen Davey, Helgesson, Deputy <br />Mayor Benson. Absents Councilman Fowle, Mayor Aiken. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: _September 16, 1968. <br />Councilman Helgesson moved, seconded by Davey and carried unanimously, that <br />the Minutes of September 16, 1968 be approved as submitted. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />City Manager reviewed the following: <br />1) Bay Area Air Pollution Control District, dated September 30, 1968, <br />explaining investigation and testing presently occur-ing in the Town. <br />City Manager noted a complete report would be presented after the pattern <br />and consistency of fallout had been determined. <br />2) Californians for Modern Hospitals dated September 27, 1968, requesting <br />Council to support Proposition 5, which would give the State Legislature au- <br />t`+.ority to guarantee loans for construction of non-profit hospital facilities <br />in California. <br />Council concurred that no action should be taken on this matter until more <br />information was available. <br />3) Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors dated September 23, 1968, noting <br />a meeting would be held October 8th, 7:30 P. M., in Exposition Hall at the <br />County Fair Grounds, San Jose, to discuss the proposed Watson Amendment <br />regarding property tax. <br />City Manager noted the Council had previously supported a "NO" vote on <br />Proposition 9. <br />4) Stone & Youngberg, Municipal Financing Letter dated October 4, 1968, <br />regarding Proposition 1-A concerning relief from property taxes. <br />STAFF REPORTS: CITY MANAGER: <br />1. Recommended the Town's insurance policies be transferred to Pacific <br />Indemnity Company since they offer a consolidated package policy which <br />would include Councilmanic insurance, and would result in an overall annual <br />` saving of ten percent. <br />MOTION, SECONDED AND CARRIED: Councilman Davey moved, seconded by <br />Helgesson, that the City Manager be authorized to enter into a contract with <br />Pacific Indemnity Company for the Town's insurance coverage, total <br />
