PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS (Cont'd.): <br />�... b) Per lot assessment - Commissioner Hibner's report is. <br />under study and formal recommendations will be made to <br />the Council as soon as possible. <br />The Mayor requested recommendations for the April 5m <br />Council meeting; however, Councilman Fowls pointed out <br />the crux of the matter is the legality of off -tract ' <br />assessments and that the City Attorney's report should <br />be presented to the Commission before any recommendation <br />is made. <br />The City Attorney will prepare a written report for the <br />March 22nd Planning Commission meeting, however, the <br />report will be tentative inasmuch as he is awaiting <br />additional information from his questionaire.. <br />c) Reconsideration of Road Standards - Awaiting samples of <br />blackened concrete as apossible solution to an esthetic <br />protective. road edging. <br />d) Deerwood Park Property - Because of the extremely steep <br />terrain, this matter is not yet resolved. ^_s a result of <br />an on-site inspection by the Planning Commission, the map <br />will be resubmitted with revised lot lines, with perhaps <br />some lots substandard in size, but with no increase in the <br />overall density. <br />STAFF REPORTS: <br />1. Landscaping. <br />The City Manager reported,although he had received considerable <br />answers to the questionaire sent to all cities in Santa Clara <br />and San Mateo Counties, he was not in a position to make a <br />recommendation as to cost and requested an extension of time <br />to the April 5m Council meeting. This extension was granted. <br />NEW BUSINESS:. <br />1. Hotel -Motel Tax. <br />Although not before the Council as an item of the Agenda, the <br />Mayor brought to the attention of the Council the discussions <br />held by the Inter -City Council and the League of California <br />Cities regarding the hotel -motel tax, and that other Cities <br />are seriously considering adopting this .tax. <br />The City Manager pointed out one location in Town (Adobe <br />Creek Lodge) had been issued a State Housing Permit in 1949 <br />for three units for overnight guests. <br />Since this tax pertainsonlyto transient lodging, the Mayor. <br />asked the Council to reflect on this matter to see if they <br />.wish to take any particular action. <br />-2- <br />
