COMMUNICATIONS: No. 5 (cont'd.) <br />Woodside against F. G. & E. It was their belief that the <br />State of California is now ready for conci6e recognition of <br />Cthe need for undergrounding of major transmission lines and <br />invited the Town of Los Altos hills to intervene in this <br />matter. <br />This matter was deferred for further study and the City <br />Attorney instructed to prepare a modification of the under- <br />ground utilities ordinance to include that all wires of all <br />voltages be placed underground. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. Selection of Payor - Deferred until the arrival of Councilman <br />FOwle.. <br />2. Miriam E. Wolff - Claim. <br />The City attorney reported that, after a thorough investiga- <br />tion and conferring with Mrs. [Wolff, the matter can be <br />handled administratively and the claim withdrawn. <br />Councilman Fowls arrived at 8:12 F. F. <br />-_l 3. Bryan M. Shieman - Violation of Zoning and Building Code. <br />Following discussion with all parties concerned, action was <br />taken on the appeal of the denial of the Shieman variance by <br />the Flanning Commission, rather than on punitive action. <br />ACTION: <br />That the request ofBryan Pi. Shieman (V-175-64) <br />for reduction of side setback requirement to <br />16 feet be approved. <br />POTION: Fowle; SECOND: Henley <br />It was noted there were no objections from property owners <br />within a radial distance of 300 feet and that the Council <br />had no control over deed restrictions in the Town. <br />The Question was called. <br />ROLL CF_IL: AYES: Fowls, Henley, Mayor Clayton <br />PiOES: Bowler, Aiken <br />ABSENT: None <br />The full penalty as prescribed by the Uniform Building Code <br />will be imposed. <br />
