<br />2. Resignation of Planning -Commissioner - Commissioner Proctor
<br />('� P;e llquist submitted his letter o£ resignation, dated August 27,
<br />1964. The Mayor expressed the regret of the Council atlosing
<br />the most valuable services of Commissioner Mellquist.
<br />It was the opinion of the Council that Commissioner Mellquist's
<br />resignation should not be accepted until a full quorum of the
<br />Council is present. The Mayor will so communicate with
<br />Commissioner Mellquist.
<br />3. County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors - Letter dated
<br />September 3, 1964, advising of Public Hearing to be held
<br />Tuesday,. September 15, 1964, at which time consideration will
<br />be given to Resolution No. 278, a Resolution of the City Council
<br />of the Town of Los Altos Hills, requesting designation of Page
<br />Mill Road as a "Scenic Route". This matter will be taken up
<br />under Item /10 of the Agenda, Development of Page Mill Road,
<br />at 2:00 F. M.

<br />Public Hearing, September 10, 1964 at 2:00 P. M., to consider
<br />proposed annexation to City of Los Altos. The proposed
<br />annexation has no bearing on the Town's limits.
<br />ANNOUNCEMENTS:
<br />1. Crossing Guard - Gardner Bullis School: The Mayor announced he
<br />had conferred with ladies of the Gardner Bullis School FTA in
<br />regard to their contribution toward the crossing guard (refer to
<br />Council Minutes of August 17, 1964). The Mayor was informed by
<br />them that the FTA will be unable to provide matching funds for
<br />crossing guards within the framework of their organization and
<br />when such guards are needed where the upper grades are not avail-
<br />able, the cities provide the guards.
<br />Deputy Don Tamm, of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office ,was
<br />present, at the request of the Mayor, to make his recommendation.—.
<br />Deputy Tamm explained that where it is necessary for an adult"'-
<br />guard, his' Office will hire, train and supervise a guard.,.but.
