AI%NOUNCEPTENTS: Crossing Guard (Cont'd.): the City must bear the cost - salary, insurance, etc. In speak- ing with the principal of Gardner Bullis School, Deputy Tamm determined the guard would be needed for a minimum of two hours a day for 175 school days, and at the present rate of '".2.00 per hour, the cost would be $700.00 per year. Deputy Tamm knew of no situation in the State other than the Sheriff's Office hiring and supervising the guards, and, therefore, it was his recommenda- tion the Town of Los Altos Hills bear the cost of the crossing guard, with the recruitment, training, placement and supervision being done under the Sheriff's Office. The Mayor stated the ladies of the FTA indicated their organiza- tion would furnish the guard uniform, boots, slicker, etc. ACTION: That in addition to the $300.00 already voted upon at the City Council August 1%, 1964 Meeting for the purpose of hiring a crossing guard, an additional sum of $400.00 be approved, to be budgeted out of reserve funds for the coming school year.
