CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />1 1 JUNE 5, 1967 <br />Mayor Albert T. Henley called the meeting to order at 7:50 P. M. in the <br />Council Chambers, <br />"_'own Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California. The following members were <br />present: Councilmen Aiken, Benson, Davey, Fowle, Mayor Henley. <br />Commissioner Gordon E. Bowler represented the Planning Commission. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of May 15, 1967 were approved as <br />APPROVAL OF <br />submitted, upon motion by Councilman Davey and second by Councilman <br />MINUTES <br />Benson. <br />The following items of communications were read by the City Manager: <br />1. Letter of May 23, 1967, from Alan S. Hart, Engineer, Divi- <br />JUNIPERO SERRA <br />sion of Highways, indicated the progress of the proposed landscape <br />FREEWAY - WATER FOR <br />project on the Junipero Serra Freeway Route 280, 0.6 miles west of <br />LANDSCAPE PROTECT <br />Foothill Blvd. and Page Mill Road. The problem of water being pro- <br />vided for irrigation of the proposed planting was discussed relative <br />to the inability of the Purissima Hills County Water District to <br />furnish the amount of water required. It was indicated, in the let- <br />ter, that the original landscape plan would have to be revised, for <br />planting only trees which can be irrigated from a truck, the other <br />planting to be completed when water is available for irrigation. <br />Mr. Marvin Nachtsheim, Engineer for the Purissima Hills County <br />Water District, explained the limitations of the District, stating <br />that the District has long range plans for expansion, but expansion <br />to take care of the needs of the Highway Department, would double <br />the District's present capacity. <br />Following discussion, the Mayor referred the matter to the Freeway <br />Landscape Committee for study. Councilman Davey is Chairman of the <br />Committee. <br />2. Letter of May 24, 1969, from B. V. Amyx, Director of the <br />BICYCLE TOURING <br />County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department, reported that <br />ROUTES — CONCEPT <br />the Board of Supervisors have approved the concept of establishing <br />ADOPTED BY THE <br />bicycle. touring routes throughout the County. Mr. Amyx explained <br />COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA <br />the program Proposed, and suggested the cities through which the <br />routes traverse, approve the concept, and plan and designate routes <br />within their cities. <br />Mr. Morse, the City Manager, stated that Mrs. A. Ginzton, Vice -Chair- <br />man of the Path Committee, had indicated her willingness to serve on <br />a Committee. <br />Upon motion by Councilman Benson, second by Councilman Davey, the <br />Council approved the concept of establishing bicycle touring routes <br />throughout the County of Santa Clara, as presented in the letter from <br />Mr. B. V. Amyz, Director of Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation <br />'- Department. The referred the matter to Mrs. Ginzton and her Committee. <br />
