ST:4FF REPORTS: Congregation Seth Am. <br />body. Mr. Marcus elaborated on two points: <br />1) Cooking classes - The Sisterhood planned classes on phases <br />of Jewish cooking, to be available to members of the <br />Congregation. The course did not materialize and is not <br />aware of any problem in this area. <br />2) Private Montessori Day School - This is not an adjunct of <br />the Congregation but was allowed for practical, economical <br />purposes, and in line with the Congregation's interest in <br />education as a religious effort and motivation of the <br />school, which is State licensed, enrolling less than 30 <br />pupils for a maximum of 30 hours a week. Rental of M0.00 <br />per month is charged. <br />City Attorney reviewed Minutes of a Special Meeting on June 27, <br />1958 and language of Use Permit (V-25-58) granted the Congre- <br />gation Beth Am, and it was questioned whether all conditions <br />had been complied with. City Manager stated all conditions had <br />been met, except additional landscaping is required as a buffer. <br />Mr. Marcus announced that a special fund in memoriam of Mike <br />Stern has been raised for the sole purpose of completing the <br />landscaping, and that the building program has been reviewed <br />by the membership, with the hope that the building of the <br />sanctuary will go forward as approved, with no variation. <br />Following discussion, Council concurred that the private school <br />was not within the limits of the Use Permit and its use is to <br />be discontinued immediately; however, if any change is contem- <br />plated in the present Use Permit, a new use permit must be <br />applied for, with an updated plan, and public hearings held. <br />Mayor asked for comments from the Floor. There were none. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Maynard B. Stevenson, 24785 Prospect Road, Los Altos Hills - <br />hequest for De -Annexation. <br />City Attorney outlined the proper procedure for de -annexation <br />according to the Government Code, with the end result that the <br />matter would require a total vote of the entire populous of <br />the Town of Los Altos Hills. <br />Nr. Stevenson withdrew his request for de -annexation due to <br />the involvement and cost. <br />Nu4! BUSINESS: <br />1. Select System Road Project No. 14. <br />(-a)— Possible transfer of lib funds to County. . <br />City Manager explained that in order to receive matching funds <br />under the Collier -Unruh Local Transportation Act, the :Town must <br />meet certain geometric standards.
