-2- <br /> Annexation cont 'd. <br /> The Mayor commented on the Annexation, stating that the Map was <br /> 411e The <br /> to insure rural zoning of the area. He added that action had <br /> been taken by the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors on April 62 to <br /> 'greenbelt ' the Frank B, Duveneck property, thus making it im- <br /> possible for this land to be anrexed to either Los Altos Hills or <br /> Palo Alto without Mr, Duveneck 's consent. The Mayor stated that <br /> the Town's map is still on file, but that several of the property <br /> owners in the area had expressed a preference for being annexed <br /> to Palo Alto, He further stated that sooner or later all of the <br /> County land in the area will be absorbed either into Los Altos, <br /> Los Altos Hills, or Palo Alto and that the people themselves will <br /> have to make a choice. <br /> Mayor Fowle invited comments from the Floor and stated that he <br /> would appreciate comments from the citizens of the Town. <br /> Councilman Henley stated that he felt that the Mayor had acted pro- <br /> perly and in the interest of the Town. <br /> Mrs. Walter A. Benson, President of the Los Altos Hills Association, <br /> representing some 700 families and members, stated that the Asso- <br /> ciation praised the action of the Town and offered encouragement. <br /> 2. Consideration of Acceptance of Edgerton Road. <br /> The City Clerk reported that application for acceptance had been <br /> made prior to his becoming City Clerk, and that no action had been <br /> taken. (V-42-59) - Request for Reduction of Front Setback <br /> to 60' . <br /> The City Clerk stated that the variance is requested for reduction <br /> of setback requirement for secondary street where house is to be <br /> built on a corner lot. <br /> Recommendation for approval was made by the Planning Commission on <br /> March 21, 1959. <br /> iir <br /> ACTION: <br /> That the variance of L. A. Helgesson (V-42-59) for a reduction <br /> of front setback to 60' be approved. <br />
