County of Santa Clara Office of the Board of Supervisors - Letter, <br />dated July 31st, 1959 and signed by*R. 01on, lerk o the Board, <br />announced a meeting to be held August 14b, 1958 at 7:30 P. M. in <br />the Supervisors' Chambers, 'North lst and Rosa Streets,.San Jose to <br />discuss the preliminary report submitted by DeLeuw Cather & Company. <br />Councilman Treat will attend at representative of the City Council, <br />and Councilman Bledsoe will attend as alternate. Chairman Spain of <br />the Planning Commission was asked to appoint a representative to <br />attend. The City Clerk was instructed to notify Mr..Alan Kinkead, <br />Chairman of Freeway Committee, and to ask him to attend the meeting. <br />3. Public Utilities Commission - Letter, dated July 21st, 1958 was <br />regarding hearings on Case No. 6148 to be held in San Francisco on <br />October 22, 23, and 24, 1958. <br />The letter will be filed. <br />4. Hugh L. Monahan - Letter, dated August 3, 1958, presented two pro- <br />posals for the improvement of South El P?onte Avenue in lieu of pay- <br />ment of 34,000. <br />Deferred to New Business. <br />5. Mayor Thomas B. I - Letter (not dated) presented brief to be <br />presented by t y of Monte Sereno at the Assembly Interim Com- <br />mittee on Municipal and County Government. <br />The City Clerk stated that Mr..James Zischie had declined to attend <br />as a representative of the Los Altos Assn,,, and also that he had had <br />word from Mrs. Walter A. Benson, Secretary w that the Los Altos <br />Assciation did not desire to send a representative. <br />The Mayor was of the opinion that the Town of Los Altos Hills <br />should be represented. <br />Mr. Gardner Bullis commented in favor of the Town having an official <br />or utofficial representative at tho Assembly.. <br />Discussion ended with the Mayor stating that he would secure a re- <br />presentative. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. Traffic Survey - Recommendations for traffic control on West Fremont <br />from ras radero to Burke Avenue. <br />The following report was submitted by the City Clerk: <br />1, Request County of Santa Clara to replace the present " End <br />35 Mile" sign for S/W bound traffic on Arastradero with <br />35 Mile limit. <br />ov 2. Install "Slow to 20 Miles" on <br />post with existing inter- <br />section signs on West vremont for East and West bound traf- <br />fic at the intersections of Manuella and Miranda Avenues. <br />8-11-58 <br />
