Mayor Treat appointed Mr. Richard Dawson on the gifts <br />committee taking the place of Councilman Dungan. The <br />following gifts were acknowledged by the council: <br />Mrs. Jesse• Steinhart, 40 shares of Foremost Common <br />Stock, approximate value $800.00; Mr. Lester Bitney <br />desire" d the cupola, approximate cost $309.84; <br />41.M :0e esires to furnish the roofing for the <br />buil a ated at $900.00; a letter from Mr. George <br />W. Evens, II, was read by the city clerk wherein he <br />desires to donate $50.00 at the rate of $10.00 per <br />month toward the city hall. <br />Mayor Treat suggested that the Foremost shares be sold. <br />It was moved by Councilman Rothwell, seconded by <br />Councilman Fowle that Mayor Treat be authorized to con- <br />summate a sale and was carried by voice vote. <br />ACKNOWLEDGMENT <br />OF GIFTS <br />Resolution No. 37 changing the date of the meeting from. M. was presented by Council- COUNCIL MEETING <br />man Rothw*ll, seconded by Councilman Bledsoe and passed <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowle, <br />Rothwell, Mayor Treat <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Treat reported regarding complaints from Mr. Gulick <br />on the shooting at the Pink Horse Ranch, and was referred <br />to the city attorney to look over the proposed ordinance <br />recommended by Sheriff Hawley and to bring his recommen- <br />dations at the next meeting. <br />It was moved by Mayor Treat, seconded by Councilman Roth- BILLS <br />well that bills amounting to $1830.14 be allowed and <br />ordered paid. <br />A letter from the County Agricultural Commission on fire <br />hazards was read by the city clerk, and on the suggestion <br />of Councilman Bledsoe, the city clerk was asked to check <br />with Fare Chief Bassett to see if there are any restric- <br />tions. <br />Amendments on Ordinance No. 17 was reported by Council- REPORT ON AMEND - <br />man Rothwell, and the council was advised that the MENTS TO ORD. <br />committee decided not to make any changes on the 12 -ton NO. 17 <br />limit, but will try to take care of trucks affected <br />within the Town. <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />- 2 - 12/1/56 <br />
