M <br />n <br />Councilman Rothwell reported on the study of an amendment <br />on the traffic ordinance. This matter will be discussed <br />when the necessary draft is drawn up by the city attorney. <br />Vice Mayor Dungan reported that a special ordinance regu- <br />lating use of firearms may be ready at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Harvey Koehn reported in detail the 7 -point program <br />on county bonds --the council did not endorse the issues. <br />OLD BUSINESS: None <br />Councilman Fowle reported that the petition withholding <br />the referendum on Ordinance No. 19 has not yet been <br />authenticated as the office of the county registrar <br />is swamped with work on the coming general election. <br />COMMENTS, FROM THE FLOOR: <br />Mrs. Williams: Requested acknowledgment of letter, read <br />by Mr. Gutt, written to the Palo Alto <br />Times concerning signers of the referen- <br />dum petition. <br />Mr. Gutt: In connection with the delay, read a code <br />that the state law requires checking of <br />signatures within 10 days.
