CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING <br />JULY 16, 1956 <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8 P. M., <br />Monday, at Purissima School. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles <br />Rothwell, Mayor Treat <br />Absent: None <br />MINUTES: Reading of the minutes was deferred until the <br />regular meeting, August 4, 1956. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: Mayor Treat read a letter dated <br />July 11, 1956, from the Planning Com- <br />mission on the subject of truck routes; <br />also a letter from Mr. and Mrs. George <br />W. Evans, II, 14511 DeBell Drive, on <br />opinions of residents regarding truck <br />routes. <br />REPORTS: City Engineer McCandless reported that Mr. Ives, <br />an employee of the California State Division of <br />Highways, was employed as a private engineer to <br />make a comprehensive review of the Town roads <br />as follows: <br />Surveying roads and making typical <br />cross-section on type of construction recommended <br />for trucking including safety features and speed <br />limits. <br />Mr. Ives report will be ready at the end of the <br />week. His qualifications were also outlined. <br />There were several questions before the council in refer- <br />ence to whether it favored the truck route on Stonebrook <br />and El Monte to the city limits of Los Altos; cost to tax- <br />payers;. if there was any harm in deferring decision of <br />establishing truck routes until cost is determined; limit- <br />ing truck routes to a certain number of years. <br />
