M <br />Councilman Rothwell moved that the council <br />establish a committee of the council to look into the <br />cost and arrangements in setting up steps for an election, <br />seconded by Councilman Dungan and was carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Dungan: Should this petition turn <br />out to be valid, certified and accepted, would it hold <br />Ordinance No. 17 from going into effectl <br />City Attorney Bullis: If petition is directed <br />to the whole of Ordinance No. 17, it is valid and the <br />ordinance is stayed. <br />Resolution No. 22 was presented and read relating Resolution <br />to the budget of the proposed expenditure of the State Gas No. 22 <br />Tax Allocation and on motion of Councilman Fowles seconded <br />by Councilman Dungan, was passed and adopted by the follow- State Gas <br />ing voter , Tax Allo - <br />AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles cation <br />Rothwell, Mayor Treat <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS: <br />City Clerk Paulman advised that he has talked <br />to Mr. Boswell, engineer of the Purissima Water Company, <br />over the telephone and asked him to send maps on roads <br />where pipe lines will be located. <br />Councilman Bledsoe had no report available on <br />the $400000 appropriation for road repairs. <br />The two (2) $1,000 notes were authorized for 2 - <br />payment after a credit adjustment of $2.56 on motion of <br />Councilman Dungan, seconded by Councilman Bledsoe and $1000 <br />passed unanimously. Notes <br />Mr. Hibner of the Road Repair Committee advised <br />the council that a meeting was scheduled to be on <br />Tuesday, July 17, 1956. <br />Mayor Treat reported that he attended a bi-monthly <br />Mayors' Meeting which was devoted almost entirely on sales <br />tax. <br />Councilman Dungan's report on the Bay Area Transit <br />System was deferred until a later date. <br />Council Minutes <br />- 3 - 7-16-56 <br />
