CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING <br />JULY 9, 1956 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Treat at 8 otclock P. M., <br />Monday, at Purissima School, <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mayor Treat, Councilmen Bledsoe, <br />Dungan, Fowle, Rothwell <br />Absent: None <br />The meeting was opened for comments and suggestions Ord. 17 <br />from the floor on the trucking ordinance. Trucking <br />(1) Mr. Russell Walton, 26440 Taaffe Avenue, <br />spoke in behalf of a group opposed to <br />Ordinance No. 17 and presented their beliefs and posi- <br />tion. He also stated the group is concerned over the <br />creation of physical problems in reference to operation <br />of quarries and truckers. <br />(2) City Attorney Bullis stated that legality <br />of the ordinance might be questioned, but <br />a lawsuit certainly will not affect the pocketbooks of <br />anyone and no court could attach or assess any damages. <br />(3) After much discussion, the council decided <br />to clarify the ordinance by an amendment <br />elempting from the ban use of trucks for agricultural <br />purposes. This action will not alter the date of effec- <br />tiveness of the ordinance. <br />(4) Mr. Staltenkant: Loads of trucks ran <br />approximately between 20 and 25 tons. <br />(5) Mr. Griffin: The crops of apricots will <br />be mostly out in al other 10 days. <br />(6) Mr. Staltenkant: Use of stickers on <br />as trucks will cause a hardship on truckers. <br />(7) Councilman Rothwell: What is the volume <br />on agricultural products going out of the <br />Town? <br />
