(8) Mr. Griffin: There will not be more ranches established in this area as prices of land are prohibitive. The total tonnage of material moved from the quarries in one day would equal the fruit moved in one year. (9) Councilman Rothwell: The total amount of agricultural hauling within the community is very small compared to the amount of commercial haul- ing in regard to business of quarries. (10) Mayor Treat: The problem of hauling heavy equipment over roads should be taken care of as a separate item. (11) Councilman Fowle: Inquired about the interest on the two $1000 notes of the First Western Bank. City Treasurer Mrs. Lovett advised that this item has been taken care of and that the Town was getting a rebate. jA-e*' (12) An ordinance amending a section of Ordi- nance No. 17 was presented and read in its entirety by City Attorney Bullis exempting trucks hauling agricultural products and on motion of Councilman Bledsoe, seconded by Councilman Dungan was adopted by the following vote: AYES: Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowle, Rothwell, Treat NOES: None ABSENT: None (13) Councilman Dungan stated that the council accept the recommendation of the committee appointed to designate truck routes. 2 - $1000 Notes '% Amendment 7f a section of Ord. 17 (14) Councilman Bledsoe: Recommendations should be made that will apply with particular reference to businesses in operation and provide them special routes for purposes of hauling materials out of this area. (15) Councilman Rothwell suggested going back to the report of the committee and seek comments from the floor. This committee was established to investigate truck routes and met three times: 1st Meeting: Represented by a group of people in the trucking business. 2nd Meeting: Group of five persons representing citizens of the Town.
